Alternatives

A Sleeper Mock Drafts alternative that drafts like your league.

Both are free, so this is not a comparison about money. Sleeper fills a room with real people in seconds. RotoAlpha fills it with the people you actually draft against.

Every Sleeper feature below was checked against their own mock draft page on August 12, 2026. Check it yourself.

The short answer.

Sleeper Mock Drafts are free, fast, and better than ours at the thing most people want from a mock: a full room of real drafters, right now, on a phone, in the app your league may already play in. RotoAlpha has none of that. No native app, no lobby of strangers, and no connection to your Sleeper league.

The reason to run a RotoAlpha mock instead is narrower and, in the right league, worth more. Its opponents are built from your league’s own past drafts, so you are rehearsing against the manager who always reaches at quarterback and the one who empties his budget on running backs, rather than against drafters in general.

Neither one costs anything.

Free on desktop, iOS and Android, with no paid tier for mock drafts. RotoAlpha’s mock drafts are free as well, with no account required to run one, and the rival tendency report is free permanently for one league. There is no trial running out on either side.

RotoAlpha does sell a Football 2026 Season Pass at $39 for the season, which covers the paid side of the product rather than mock drafts. Access ends February 7, 2027 and nothing renews.

  • Sleeper describes its mock drafts as free on desktop, iOS and Android, with mocks against real users or against their A.I.
  • Their mock draft page lists Redraft, Keeper and Dynasty game modes, and supports custom ADPs, adjustable roster positions and pre-set keepers.
  • Their A.I. is described as learning from other players’ draft tendencies, which produces a realistic generic opponent. That is a different thing from a report on the specific managers in your league, which is what RotoAlpha builds.

What Sleeper does better.

They run one of the largest fantasy platforms there is, and we are a first-season web app. Here is where that shows, specifically.

  • Mocking against real people, instantly. Sleeper has the user base to fill a room at any hour, and a shareable draftboard link that friends can join on web or mobile. RotoAlpha mocks are against the model, not a lobby of humans.
  • It is the platform your league may already play on, so a mock happens in the same app and the same draftboard you will use on draft night. RotoAlpha stood platform sync down in August 2026 and connects to nothing.
  • Native iOS and Android apps. RotoAlpha is a web app.
  • Dynasty and best ball mocks are supported. RotoAlpha supports neither league type this season.
  • Their mock A.I. is built to imitate general drafter behaviour and is available across every sport they run. RotoAlpha is football-only for 2026.

What RotoAlpha does that they don’t.

Opponents built from your league, not from drafters in general
Sleeper’s mock A.I. imitates how people draft on average, which is what makes it a realistic room to practise in. RotoAlpha builds its opponents from your league’s own past drafts, so the manager who always reaches for a quarterback early does it in your mock too. Practising against the field is useful. Practising against your field is a different exercise.
Auction drafts priced for your exact settings
RotoAlpha prices the full draftable pool against your team count, budget, roster shape and scoring, with no account. Sleeper’s mock draft page lists redraft, keeper and dynasty game modes.
A mock that explains itself
Every pick comes with the reasoning: what the model expected, what it cost you against replacement, and where the run you just triggered leaves your roster. A mock you cannot interrogate teaches you less than one you can.
A tendency report that outlives the mock
The read on your rivals is not thrown away when the mock ends. It is a report you keep and open again on draft night, which is the point at which it actually pays. It is free, permanently, for one league.

How the projections and the backtest work →

Which one fits you.

Stay with Sleeper if

  • You want to mock against real people, or against friends on a shared draftboard link.
  • Your league already plays on Sleeper and you want the practice to happen in the same app as the real thing.
  • You are preparing for a dynasty startup, a rookie draft, or best ball.
  • You want a phone app rather than a browser.

Try RotoAlpha if

  • You want to practise against the specific managers in your league rather than against general drafter behaviour. RotoAlpha builds its opponents from your league’s own draft history.
  • You are drafting an auction and want the board priced for your exact budget, roster shape and scoring.
  • You want the mock to explain itself, including why a pick was made and what it cost you.
  • You want a tendency report on your rivals that outlasts the mock and is still there on draft night.

Most people should use both.

These tools are good at different halves of the same job. Get your reps in a live room on Sleeper, where there are real people to read and a queue that never empties. Then work out what the particular people in your league are going to do, which is the part a public lobby cannot teach you.

Nothing needs migrating or connecting to try the second half. Paste your league’s past draft results, which works no matter where you play, and a free account keeps them.

Common questions.

What is the best Sleeper mock draft alternative?

If you want to mock against real people at any hour, Sleeper is genuinely hard to beat and RotoAlpha does not try. They have the user base to fill a room instantly and a shareable draftboard your friends can join.

RotoAlpha is the better answer when you want to practise against the specific managers in your league rather than against strangers or a generic A.I. It builds those opponents from your league’s own draft history.

Are Sleeper mock drafts free?

Yes. Free on desktop, iOS and Android, with no paid tier for mock drafts. RotoAlpha’s mock drafts are free too, with no account needed to run one, so price is not the thing to decide on here.

The difference is what the opponents are modelled on and what you keep afterwards. The Football 2026 Season Pass at $39 exists for the paid side of the product, not for mock drafts.

Does RotoAlpha connect to my Sleeper league?

No. Platform sync was stood down in August 2026, so RotoAlpha connects to no platform at all, Sleeper included. Your past draft results come in by paste or CSV, which works regardless of where you play.

That is the clearest advantage Sleeper has here: their mock happens inside the app your league may already use, on the same draftboard you will use on the night.

Can I mock an auction draft?

On RotoAlpha, yes, and the auction calculator prices the full pool for your exact budget and roster shape with no signup. Sleeper’s mock draft page lists redraft, keeper and dynasty modes.

Should I use both?

Probably. They are good at different halves of the same preparation. Use Sleeper to get reps in a live room against real people, and use RotoAlpha to work out what the particular people in your league are going to do. Neither requires giving up the other.

Run a mock against your own league.

No account needed to start one. Paste your past drafts when you want the opponents to sound like the people you know.
